Wordish Wefnesday #1- Nana and Papa's "Christmas project day"
My parents and I try to get together every other weekend so they can see the kids. They are super helpful, so it's nice for me and the kids love it!
We were supposed to go see the lights at the zoo but it's been REALLY cold here so we decided on a "Christmas project day". My dad is an engineer, so he was in charge of the gingerbread house. My mom is super crafty so she was in charge of making ornaments. I was in charge of food and sugar cookies. I made wassle (basically spiced apple cider), homemade broccoli cheddar soup and steak sandwiches.
The kids, and my parents, had a BLAST! It was such a lovely day.

Sounds like a fun time for everyone!
ReplyDeleteWe are spending time with my family tomorrow- and I was simmering some oranges on the stove today, too!

I love wassel!!!! What's your recipe? I've never made it before! :)
ReplyDeleteI use a gallon of apple cider (organic normally), 1 orange cut in half with cloves stuck in it and 2 cinnamon sticks. Then I just let it simmer all day.
